Moms of daughters--Bangs?

Just curious what everyone is doing/did when their  DD's hair started to fall into her eyes. I've been doing a sidesweep with clippies or 2 ponytails at the top of DD's head from time to time. But has anyone cut bangs this young? I'm hesitant to take the bang plunge. What to do...

Re: Moms of daughters--Bangs?

  • We have been trimming (well not we, but the barber) since DD was 10 months old. She goes about every 2 months.

  • We also have been trimming - she  is due for another one!

  • We're doing bangs as well mainly because she won't keep clips in and I can't get her hair into a ponytail that well so bangs it is until maybe a in a few years we'll try to grow them out when she will actually leave clips in! I like the bangs though and def. better than seeing the hair get in her eyes!
  • I cut Kaley's bangs a few weeks ago and she might be getting close to needing a trim in the next week.

  • I do the side-sweep too. ?DD won't let me put any clips in her hair. ?I need to have her bangs trimmed because they keep falling in her eyes.?

  • side-sweep w/clips here! ?Just not sure I'm ready to "commit" to bang, LOL!
  • We're doing the side-sweep with clips right now.  I'm trying to avoid cutting bangs because they are such a pain to grow out.

  • DD has had several hair cuts (the first at 3 months!)  We take her to my salon and stylist.  We did barrettes till she was almost a year.  Then chopped bangs.  Much better than hair in her eyes and her yanking out clips every 2 minutes.

  • the bean got bangs at her first haircut, and the stupid stylist cut them far too short. ?luckily little kids are able to pull that look off, but she looks way better now that they've grown out.

we're still debating whether or not to keep the bangs or let them grow out. ?if we go with the latter, we'll just do the side sweep with clips.?

  • DD had bangs when we cut her hair at 4 months old.  She looked so so silly IMO and because her hair grows so fast and she has so much of it..it's hard to keep up.  Now, she has so much hair that I can put her bangs up into two pigtails at the top of her head and it's not an issue.  She doesn't pull her hair out at all..so we are lucky too.  I had bangs my entire life..so I'm boycotting bangs for DD.
  • No bangs here! DD had such crazy cowlicks that they'll never work. Just lots of hairt hings. Luckily, she stopped pulling them out, so it's no big deal anymore!

  • We never cut bangs and did the clippies and we finally have hair long enough to tuck behind her ear.  I could never commit to the bang either.

  • no cutting of the bangs here. we side swipe, but they end up in her eyes anyway.  i hadn't really thought about it. I think her hair is looking pretty cute right now.

  • No bangs.  I sweep them to the side, do piggies, or a clippy.  DD has super curly hair (it's straightened in my siggy pic) and I don't think bangs would work with her baby fro!

  • I did some after her 1st Bday but hair was still in her eyes.  This week I cut some real ones.  Dh didn't like it at first but now it's so cute.
  • I wanted to do bangs early on (seeing Suri, etc) but talked to my hair stylist since I was totally unsure what to do now that she finally has hair hitting her eyes, and she suggested not doing bangs. ?She said it is a mad mad cycle of keeping them looking good. ?She said if you go through the pain of growing them out right now, it will just be that one time. ?My DD won't keep clips in and she is totally in a messy yucky phase, but I'm hoping in a few months we'll be able to do hair clips without her pulling them out and we'll be over the hump. ?

?For me, I'd rather go through a funky couple of months than funky bangs spattered through the future (if I cut myself...)

?I'm convinced that as a low maintenance mommy I need to stay away from bangs! ??
