Need a quick vent

So we are slowly telling friends that we are prego and they all say "we knew it!" And we all laugh and smile and then we say oh ya it's triplets. And the shock on their face is wonderful but then the most common response is "how are you going to afford them" & "oh my gosh your going to get huge" wow well gee thanks for reminding me that money is going to be tight for abit until we get a budget lined up oh and just what every woman wants to hear your going to be fat. Awesome just awesome. Why can't they just shut up and say oh my gosh I'm so excited for you! Sorry it may be my prego hormones but I swear the next person that says something along these lines is going to get their head chewed off. Are any other ladies having issues with this?

Hate to tell you, but it never stops.  Well, my twins are 2 and it hasn't stopped yet.  Ignorant annoying comments from all over.  You build an immunity to it.  I can deal with the people that say it out loud a lot better than the ones I know say something behind my back.

I got it my whole pregnancy with twins... I got so upset but just tried to ignore stupid people... I have 2 boys who are 3 and 5 and my twins are 4 months. I still get comments like better u than me and I bet you're done having kids now. It's so rude.

Congrats!!! But, like PPs have said, this is only the beginning of the inane comments.

Heck, I had a couple of coworkers want to know exactly how much weight I had gained at any given point. People's filters go out the window with twins. I cannot even imagine the reactions (and questions) you'll get with triplets.

Take it in stride, make it fun -- otherwise, you'll go nuts.

Awwww, that's stinks! I had it with twins, so I can only imagine with triplets. Family, friends, strangers- everyone had to "comment". It was frustrating! Just know- its all worth while! I would just smile and say something snotty like "well at least they'll be tiny, I can have them sleep in a drawer..."

Sleep in a drawer lol! That's cute well guess I better start getting my thick skin ready. I'm a bartender and some of my regulars have already noticed that I've put on some weight and I've told them their cut off cause their crazy, but don't know how much longer I'll be able to hide a bump and then the comments will really start lol! Ugh ok well thanks for the words of wisdom I'll learn to suck it up.

How about, when they comment about how are you going to afford it, respond with "We're charging everyone $5 for every stupid comment or question they ask.  That'll be $5"

Like others have said, you'll get it during your pregnancy and after they are born. And you will get a ton of very personal questions too. Definitely need thick skin

I have triplets - and yes, the stupid things people say, and the personal questions they think it's ok to ask is just astounding. People usually tell me ' wow, you have your hands full', 'you must be busy' but the one I hate the most is when people say someting along the lines of 'I feel sorry for you'. Ummm, NO! That is super rude. I am very blessed with my family and feel fortunate that they are healthy, happy and here with me. Thick skin for sure lady. All the best with your little family. GL

Hang in there! Just stay positive & surround yourself with those that have positive & uplifting things to say! I'm expecting Twin Boys, there were a few times I was for sure I may go off on someone! But stay strong & enjoy these babies when they arrive!!
