1st Trimester

Does anyone not feel sick in the 1st trimester?

Just curious...I was reading the post about what helps your nausea. I would say I feel mildly yucky at 6weeks. But that also makes me feel nervous that something is wrong since I don't feel awful. Is anyone lucky enough to get through the 1st trimester without any morning sickness?

Re: Does anyone not feel sick in the 1st trimester?

  • Me.  It's really hard when you don't have many symptoms but it doesn't indicate anything is wrong.  My sister had no symptoms at all and she just delivered a healthy 9 lb 7 oz baby!

Also, with my last pregnancy I had a lot more symptoms than I do now and that didn't end well.

  • If you're 6 weeks then all I can say is that it may well still happen. I was like you, mildly yucky, until about 8 weeks and then it hit me properly. It doesn't hit everyone like a tonne of bricks at the same time. I had my first throw up at 8wks 6 days, but since then I've felt a lot better. Or you may be lucky enough to get off lightly. Your hormones generally start to peak between 7-10 weeks, so many women find that that's when they feel their worst.

  • Me!! I've luckily got thru both my last pregnancy & this one with no m/s! I just think I'm lucky! My mum or sister never had it either :o)
Enjoy it while it lasts...,! It maybe just for now or u maybe lucky too ;o)
  • My last pregnancy, I had no symptoms. I joked that I could have been on that show, "I didn't know I was pregnant".
    This time, not so lucky.

  • I really didn't have MS with either pregnancy - just mild nausea if I was late eating a meal.  Too early to say with this one so I likely just cursed myself ;)
  • I'm about 7-8 weeks and feel pretty good. My first, I was sick for 5 months. I know I still have time to get sick, but my mom told me this is how I SHOULD be feeling - good! :) It's hard not to worry about every little thing. I'm having u/s tomorrow to find out for sure how far I am.
  • With DD I had a great pregnancy and didn't have any morning sickness. She was born 2 days early as healthy as can be and weighed 8lbs15oz!

  • With my first, I had no morning sickness. I was just tired with sore boobs. Not so lucky this time around though!

  • I was worried just like you! I heard the horror stories of morning an night sickness and I felt left out because I hadn't felt the wrath of it yet. At 10 weeks is when it hit me! I hope it won't last long. I was shocked to get it so late in my first trimester but I now know the feeling. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. It reminds me of when I had food poisoning.... ughhh! yuck! So don't worry everyone's pregnancy is different... and it's never to late.

  • I haven't had any morning sickness either.  One day I just felt a little nauseous and drank ginger ale just in case.  I will be 9 weeks tomorrow.  After reading some of these comments getting it at 10 weeks now I am like OH NO!!
  • Lack of symptoms does not mean something is wrong.

  • I've been pregnant 4 times and never had any symptoms in the 1st tri, even when I miscarried last year, no symptoms.

  • My first pregnancy, I had AWFUL MS.
My second pregnancy, I was still BF'ing DS1 at the time, and I experienced only one MS spell.
My third pregnancy, I was still BF'ing DS2 during first tri, and I experienced NO MS.

Could be a coincidence, but BF'ing could have helped.

  • With my 1st I had no morning sickness or food cravings, the entire pregnancy. Each pregnancy is different. No worries.
  • I was never sick with my first pregnancy (I dry-heaved once).  This pregnancy is a whole other story, I had to go on Zofran for a few weeks to help me get through the day.

  • I had a few days where I was queasy for an hour or so in the AM but that was it. I didn't throw up until I hit about 30w (b/c I had no room left for food!). I was worried too but it's true what they say, every PG is different.

  • I'm in 2nd tri, have had completely normal ultrasound, tests etc and never had any morning sickness ever. I had some mild food aversions sometimes and fatigue but that's it. Most if the time, I have not felt pregnant at all. Consider yourself lucky!

  • No morning sickness here either at 7w1d.  I do get a little queasy and lose my appetite but I'm not running for the bathroom at all.  I also worry but I just keep reminding myself that each day I miss my period is a day closer to healthy baby.

I am more worried that it'll hit later and then I'll really be sorry!!!

  • Many women never have pregnancy-related nausea or other symptoms. You just hear more about the women who do have them because they talk about it more. There's not much to talk about when you feel completely normal and don't "feel" pregnant till the baby starts moving around noticeably halfway through your pregnancy.

It's just as common not to have pregnancy discomfort as it is to have it. Nothing to worry about either way.

  • I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and for the past 3 weeks have been super excited that I had absolutly no symptoms except sore breasts. This past weekend it all crashed down on me. I feel sick all the time. Enjoy feeling great, and if it lasts you may just be one of the lucky ones :)

  • I never had MS with my daughter, but I had horrible insomnia. Everyone responds differently to pregnancy.

  • I have not gotten sick once! I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and had an ultrasound yesterday and all is good. Everyone's body is different. There are many women who don't experience MS.
