Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Traveling by plane with infant-formula

We'll be leaving on Thurs. from Lou, KY to Portland, OR and are flying with our 4 yr old and 3 month old.  I have read on TSA website that we can bring formula through inspection but it doesn't say anything about whether it is ok to bring bottles already filled with water...?  When I go anywhere, I always like to have a bottle filled with 4 oz of water so I can easily pour in the formula and not have to worry about finding water.  I know that I can fill the bottles once I get past security but I'm kinda worried that I will forget to do that before getting on the plane!

Any other tips for traveling by air with a 3 month old?

Re: Traveling by plane with infant-formula

  • I just flew yesterday with my 6 month old. I had a whole days worth of bottles. On the way down (in Canada) they didn't even look at them but yesterday in Florida they put them in some machine and checked them. I also had a whole sippy cup full of water and they just put that in the machine as well. I used the ready to feed and it was no problem but they told me water/food for the baby is exempt from limitations.
