I loovvveee our Murano. I'm not sure if you're looking for 3rd row seating or not, but we've had great luck with it. It's the only car I've kept long enough to pay off lol Gas isn't bad either .. and the back hatch space is pretty large - especially for a "crossover" or "midsize" SUV - not sure where the Murano fits.
We got the Rogue about a year and a half ago, a little smaller than the Murano, but very similar otherwise. I have been really happy with it. We are in the process of moving and were shocked how many boxes, etc we were able to fit when we folded down the seats yesterday. The gas mileage is good, the price was good and we got fully loaded so I still get my navigation, satellite, leather etc.
I am a Nissan gal, this is my second, and I have been really happy with it.
What is the difference between the ford explorer/escape/edge? For those who know... From what I've seen, escape is small SUV, explorer is just a bit bigger and the edge being the biggest?? Well besides the expedition of course. I'm not set on Ford so everyone please feel free to keep commenting. I just wanted to clarify that question. Thanks!
The Escape and Edge are similar, neither offer 3rd row. I believe the Explorer is the biggest of the three.
Explorer is the biggest. Escape is more of a compact SUV. The Edge is your luxury. We loved the Edge and my ILs have one but the mpg was better on the Escape, which I need because of my commute.
I thought I was crazy because I've noticed I get better mileage on my 2012 explorer than my 2011 edge. Loved my edge but my explorer has been great too! Plenty of room and very comfy!!!
@avigailandcharlie FWIW, we have had a pilot with a 3rd row for years with no kids and we use that space all the time. I like that it gives the option of Seating, but it has great cargo space when it's folded down. I can only imagine that once I have kids that cargo space will become even more of a commodity- and it gives us flexibility if we need the seats down the road.
Induction of mo/di twin boys scheduled for 2/24!

I have and LOVE an Expedition, terrible gas mileage but LOVE the size, handling, space, etc.
I have had 2 previous Explorers, and Honda Odssey- love SUV's and hope to never drive a sedan again. They sit sooooo low it feels weird and unsafe- just my perception
I have a Mitsubishi Outlander 2010 and love it!!! It has a third row that seats 2 but it isn't made for adults, but rather good for kids. It gets 29 mph on highway and 24 city.

I have a 2007 Kia sportage and it has been excellent in the 3 years I've had it. Smooth ride, very low maintenance, good gas mileage, and 4 wheel drive if you need it. I will be glad to keep this one until it shits the bed. We are hoping to hold off on the 3rd row SUV/minivan until we have baby #3.
We have the Mazda cx9 and we both absolutely LOVE it! It has 3 rows of seats. Gas mileage isn't great (I think average is 18mpg) so if you didn't mind something smaller you could look at the cx5 which I think is suppose to get more. Everyone I've known who has a CX loves them. Seriously a great car!

I had a Saturn vue and found it too small. With ds' newborn car seat we couldn't put the passenger seat back far enough. I am 5'8" and could fit but my knees were at the dash. Now I have a Tahoe and love it! It doesn't get great mileage (but work pays for most of my gas) but it has tons of space and is super safe. I love that I can tow anything and it has 4 wheel drive for our winters. Plus it has a third row of seats that can come out for more storage.
