Help!! Eva or Elise

We have a very Italian last name, like Capriatti.  We were set on Elise Valentina and now my husband is saying he prefers Eva Valentina.

Thoughts from you ladies would be appreciated!!!

First off, I loooove Valentina! Beautiful name! Are you pronouncing Eva /EE-vah/ or /AY-vah/? I honestly prefer this name (either pronunciation) to Elise, but it's sooo popular that that might be a deterrent for you. Elise is refreshing and I never hear it on little kids.

Thank you @scarlett&gatsby!!  We would pronounce it EE-vah.  I'm definitely not a fan of how popular it's becoming, but I do not want to completely take over with the naming and make sure my husband feels like his opinion matters. Do you think Eva Valentina sounds "rhyme-y"?

Love Eva and love Valentina but I do think Eva Valentina is a little rhyme-y.  Sorry!

Elise!! Everyone I have ever known with that name spells is Elyse (including MH's grandmother). But either way, I like it :)

Elise. Eva is just too popular these days IMO and the rhyming with MN is not ideal (not horrible tho, if those are the names you decide you both love most)

Elise is one of my all-time favorites.  Eva is just "meh" in my book, and it's MEGA popular now.  It also has a pronunciation problem.  People don't know whether it's supposed to be EE-vah or AY-vuh.

In general, I think names flow better when the mn is shorter than the fn. Are you open to switching them around? Valentina is used way less these days.
