This board is so dead.....
Let's brag on our kids a bit
My Danny (9) is doing so great in math at school his teach said she's impressed at what a great math thinker he is. And this is all new concepts since the common core started.
Nathan (2 3/4) has been without a diaper since Tuesday we've only had one small accident a day. And he's even telling me more when he needs to go.
Lucas has started jumping its so cute to watch him try to get his feet both up and down together. He's also started going down for naps and bed awake instead of nursing to sleep.
What are your kids up to
Re: So dead
DS, 14 years old, is now a sophmore in high school and has his first (that I know about) girlfriend. He is becoming more and more of a man everyday and while I'm happy that he's independent I'm also sad that he's not my tiny little boy anymore.
DD, 16 months old, is also starting to jump, lol. She will start bending her knees and bouncing with her feet on the floor, then she gains momentum and has actually made it off the ground a few times. She knows when she does this on the bed she will get some air and she loves it. She is really into bubbles right now and love spending time outdoors. She is starting to mimic sounds and loves animal noises. She roars like a lion and moo's like a cow. She also loves her books but she'd rather flip through the pages than have anyone read to her. Not too many words yet, but her newest one is "all done".
On the bright side, her language and vocab continue to amaze me as she begins to refine her pronunciation and has started putting two and three words together (most recently "no dank you"!!) She's also starting to finally come out of her shell with other kids and actually tries to introduce herself by going up to them, tapping her own chest and saying her name. The other kids never have a clue how to respond to that, but it's pretty cool to see her learning about social interactions.
DD is getting ready to move up to the toddler room at daycare. The 15th will be her first day, and I'm really excited/sad about it. It will give her the opportunity to be surrounded by kids who are potty training, forming sentences, learning their colors/numbers/letters/shapes, and a whole bunch of new things. On the sad side, she's now officially a toddler, she'll have a "graduation" certificate that will say will say so.
We go see the specialist on next week for her ears. Looks like the debacle last year of constant ear infections has just started back up again. I'm not putting her through that again, several cycles of antibiotics for no real result. I'm kind of hoping he just says tubes are a go so we can be done with this.
Every day she surprises me with something new. Last night she put on her rubber boots by herself and walked around the house. She gets new words all the time, loves to "sing", will make a seriously stern face back at me when I scold her. Her personality is amazing. I really don't know how she can be so little a person with such a huge personality. She's fascinated with animals and is learning to be gentle. Watching her learn new things is the most amazing. The way her eyes light up and I can see the wheels turning, she's such a wonderful kid.
What ever works for you I'm just speaking from experience at this age they start to figure out how to play us. Just a warning I wished some one had given me sooner with my first. Since there are times you will be alone and have to finish what you're doing
