So my LO has been dealing with what I thought was reflux and belly aches. Per his pedi we switched him to similac last Wednesday. Things seemed to be going better but he was getting more and more congested. I was going to feed my dog on Friday and carrying my LO and felt him arch. Looked at him, he was foaming and not breathing. My DH happened to walk into the house from work simultaneously. After 2 mins and a limp baby... We finally got some shallow breathing. And had another mini episode not too long after. We called the ambulance and spent the night in the hospital for observation.
The dr said it was the formula making his mucous thick and reflux that caused him to choke.
Well we have Zantac for my LO which they said takes a couple days to see if it works... And back to breast feeding.
Just woke up to my LO struggling to breathe again because of flem and crap in his nose/mouth. And a reflux attack. We got him calmed down now. But of course I am not going to sleep!! I will hold him and stare at him for the rest of the night until we can get into the dr. I hate this my poor baby!
T&P's would be appreciated!!!! This mamas nerves are shot!!!!!
Oh no! I hope they are able to figure out things soon! In the meantime I highly suggest buying a SNUZA monitor. It will alert if your lo stops breathing. They are amazing. I purchased one after dd2 turned blue when I was holding her. Thankfully I rubbed her and she took a deep breath, but still so scary. Hospital said she is perfectly healthy, but I don't want to experience that again!

That is terrifying. I hope they figure out why it is continuing. I am not one to think you need a monitor for breathing, but after that, I'm not sure I could sleep ever again without one.

Thanks everyone! My grandma came up today and it's nice to have my support system here for DH and I. We are hoping to see a GI specialist next week. Please continue the prayers if you think of us!
