Coughing causing spotting?

I feel kind of silly asking this, but it's worth a try.  I have had a cough for 2-3 weeks now and it is just getting worse.  Just enough phlegm in my throat  to make me cough, and even gag sometimes (which really sucks), but it won't come out.  Last weekend I had bright red spotting that stopped after a couple hours.  I had my 10 week appt the next day and everything looked good on the u/s.  But the past 2 days I've had a little red when I wipe.  Barely there and only a few times, but it is streaked mucus (sorry if TMI).  Really freaking me out!  But I've started wondering if maybe it's from the coughing.  Has anyone else heard of/experienced this?

I haven't heard of that but just wanted to offer ((hugs)) and well wishes that everything is okay and that your cough resolves soon. That sounds miserable!!

Thank you.  It's the worst at night.  I kind of remember it with my other pregnancies too.  I think the extra fluids/mucusy fun stuff in pregnancy doesn't help.  Oh well.

Haven't had it happen, but it sounds plausible to me. When I cough/sneeze I absolutly feel it in my ute, and doing it enough could probably pop a capillary or two. I hope it's nothing, and that your foul cough will clear up soon.

I have no advice but wanted to offer hugs. I hope you feel better soon and that its nothing.

With DSs pg, any disturbance downstairs would lead to spotting. I never had a bad cough, but I know the diaphragm can impact the cervix with a big pg belly (long tmi story about labor, I will spare you). I could totally see a bad cough leading to light spotting.
