Car seat tether?

We just got a convertible carseat and I totally don't get the upper tether/anchor thing. I get what it DOES but what the heck do you attach it to? I havent really tried installing it yet but I just look at it and am like whaaaaaaa...? I have a 2002 beetle, dh has a 2013 fusion if that matters.

Re: Car seat tether?

  • Your car manuals will show you the location of the tether hook.

  • Check your manual, if you're rear facing likely you don't need to use the tether. If it's forward facing it generally needs to be tethered and the hook is located either under the rear window (sedan) or on the back of the seat (SUV/van/hatchback)

  • The seat has instructions for using it rear and forward facing, and I will check our car manuals as well. I'm usually pretty good at insert tins for assembling/installing things but this just threw me for a loop!
