37 week name list.. again..

It's me, again! lol I really appreciate being able to bounce names off you ladies. We aren't sharing names with many people, so it helps to get some feedback on whether we are crazy or not.

We had it narrowed down to 2 names, and then added some back on our list. Recap: I'm having a boy, we currently have a Jackson who we call Jack, we love nn's. Here's our current 'like' list that I would appreciate any input on!

Ronan - DH's favorite, means little seal which I'm not crazy about

Locke - Kind of a GP name for me, but I love that it is Old German and has a strong meaning

Linus - We both love this but are concerned about the charlie brown reference, as well as some people associating it with 'anus' ugh!

Nicholas - We like the nn Nico, but aren't in love with the name.

Logan - DS insists this is his baby brother's name. I have always liked it, but feel like it's kind of meh now.

Boden - Another GP name, we really like the nn Bodie, but most everyone else hates it.

I like the name Boden and nickname

there is a slight reference to the clothing company. I don't think its a big deal though. Whatever the two of you see your little boy as is what you should choose regardless of the opinions of others! It only needs to mean a lot to you! Goodluck! See u back for the middle name

I didn't realize it was a clothing company, is it really well known and I'm just living under a rock? lol

No it is not well known. I love there clothing! I think theyre based out of the Uk. So I wouldn't worry about it at all!

Boden is a huge company! It was my first thought. Have never heard it as a name.

Linus is one of those names where I don't think I would ever use it, but if I met a kid with that name I'd love it! I hate the name Bodie. Just sounds like a speech impediment or something to me.

Ronan- I love this best. Since you dont like its meaning, what about Rowan or Rohan?

Locke - It's ok but reminds me of John Locke both from history and Lost. Combined with older brother Jack, which is sometimes a nickname for John and Jack is another character from Lost, I would assume you were a huge John Locke/Lost fan. Not a bad thing necessarily, but something to consider.

Linus - its ok

Nicholas - I love the nickname Nico but I feel like Nick is the obvious nn for Nicholas. Great name though. How about Dominic or Niklaus nn Nico?

Logan - love this, especially if you like xmen.

Boden - Not a fan personally, but I wouldn't side eye it.

Thanks for all the responses! I've never actually met anyone named Linus, so I have a hard time trying to figure out how people will react to it. It's nice to see it's well received here!

@mh89 Rowan was on my list at first, but I've seen too many little girls with the name recently and it has a feminine feel to it now.

I hate when that happens! And I also really like Rohan, but I think I like Ronan more. Thanks for your suggestions and comments!

I love Linus. Ronan is also nice. I thought of the clothing company as soon as I heard Boden. I don't really like it as a name, or Bodie--sounds like a dog.

I'm in the same boat with you on Nicholas/nico. I think nico is fine as a stand alone.

Logan is ok, just kind of boring to me.

I don't like Boden at all.

Boden & Ronan are my favorites. I live in US and never heard of Boden as clothing company so I think depends where you live for that to matter.

I like Nicholas (though not Nico) and Linus the best.

My first thought with Linus was Ben Linus from Lost, not Charlie Brown. Lost was also my first thought on Locke. Since there is also a character named Jack as a pp pointed out, you might want to consider if that bugs you. I don't think it's a big deal.

I like Nicholas best and think it makes the best sibset, but don't like Nico. The rest aren't really my style. Aside from Logan, but, like you, it feels kind of Meh when I think about it, too. Boden NN Bodie seems to be the only other name you're saying "we like" about in terms of agreement. If other people don't like it, they don't have to use it.
