s/o bed transition

DD started climbing out of the crib at 18 months, I had just gotten pregnant w/ DS, so transitioning her to a twin bed was a no brainer, but I had always though as long as the kid doesn't climb out, the longer they're in there the easier it is.  When I was putting DS, 16 months to bed tonight I was thinking it probably wouldn't cross his mind to climb out of a bed since when I put him in the crib he rolls right to his belly, gives me a smile, and I'm out.  Do you think it's easier to tranisition them when they're younger, before the thought of playing and climbing around crosses their minds?

Re: s/o bed transition

  • Ohhh I'd love to hear some responses. DS is almost 16 months. I'm so surprised he hasn't climbed out yet. He was 13 months when he almost had it, then apparently decided it wasn't a good idea. I know he could get out if he wanted to. He sleeps 7-7 but its the naps that are preventing me from transitioning.
