P17 shots

Did anyone get the P17 weekly shots and still delivered early? I'm pregnany with baby #2 and will probably get the shots. My DD was born last year at 32 weeks from prePROM. My dr doesn't seem too worried about me, but I'll probably get the shots for peace of mind. I was just wondering if anyone got the shots and had any negative side effects or issues from them. They say it works, but it's unexplained.

I got them with my second and I delivered about a week after my first. DD1 born at 33w 4d and DD2 born 34w 5d. I had no issues with the shot, just that the site was sore for a few days. I'm still glad that I got them. I feel an extra week in the womb is better than nothing.

DS was born at 30w5 and I am currently 33 weeks with #2. I have had the shots since 16 weeks. No major side effects just itching or soreness at the injection site

Out of curiosity, how did everyone's OB's determine they were good candidates for the shots?

I spontaneously delivered DD at 36 weeks exactly, but they couldn't find a "reason" why my water broke, and the hospital initially treated us like a term birth. I found out later that a few of my relatives in earlier generations had pre-term births and late miscarriages, but I don't know what, if anything, is related.

DD did well, despite severe jaundice and trouble eating/weight gain, but I would love to give a second child even another week if possible.

Wow! I've never heard of this. Thank you for asking this question so I was able to do research. My OB/GYN says since there was no medical reason for the pre-term labor, I shouldn't have issues in the future. But, who knows. I will always wonder why & what happened to make my water break at 31 weeks. I also had a miscarriage at 12 weeks last summer. Another why & what if that will never be answered. And I like to be educated.

Did any of you take the progesterone suppositories during early pregnancy? I took them for the first 12 weeks. (Yuck, I hated them too) I wonder if this is something I will do again for the next pregnancy. From what I can tell, it's a bit controversial whether it really works or not.
