Pack and Play Question

Ok, maybe I'm just a total moron. We got a pack and play from the shower - as a 3rd time mom, I've never had one before. So we figured out how to get it all set up last night. Then I wanted to get it ready to take with us - we spend lots of time visiting/travelling and will take LO with us. I figured out how to fold up the pack and play itself to put into the travel bag but does the top parts - napper/changer, bassinet, and toy bar not "pack" into travel bag? This is the actual model that we have - I've read the instructions and feel like a total dumba** for asking but it kind of defeats the purpose if you can't actually pack everything up.

Re: Pack and Play Question

  • I've never successfully managed it, and we've owned three counting the one we have now. We always wind up throwing the extra bits into a suitcase.

  • Ours justs fits the pack and play and pad everything else doesn't fit.
  • Not that I know of. We actually don't bother with the changer when we travel.

I usually end up using a bed or floor. It's less to pack up. Plus you usually reach the weight limit pretty fast.

  • I can never get the napper back in the bag. I've heard urban myths that it's possible, but not sure how. Maybe there's a youtube tutorial.

  • It does! If you slide the fabric it will revel those button latches, where you press in while simultaneously pulling apart. It took me a while to figure it out with DD but all the pieces do fit in the bag. I put the biggest part in first then slide the poles around it or down into the middle of the folded pnp. Good luck. After setting up and taking down about 5 times in a row I got the hang of it.

  • When she folds it up in the video on their site it doesn't look like it has the extras stuck in there.  I guess I should have watched it with the volume on.  My changing station fit in mine but it was an older model.
  • @babymama619 - Great idea but unfortunately all the YouTube videos show un-assembling only the playpen part, not the napper part.

@sing2phins - It really makes the top parts useless for us then, I don't forsee us ever using it at home. Our house is smaller and LOs room used to be the dining room, now with walls, so it's basically attached to the living room.

  • @lforshort - Hmm, will have to try this after work and report back on if I can manage to make it work!

  • Yes good luck! We have a portable high chair with the same kind of setup it was almost a year (and a ton of video searches) before I finally found all the buttons to break it down completely. I don't know why they make them so difficult.

  • Ours doesn't fit in with the rest, which I I agree is very annoying!
  • Only the actual pack and play fits in my travel bag, the changing table and newborn seat dont
  • I tried without success this weekend. I got everything except the napper into the travel bag.

  • I have never seen one that does fit them in. They didn't used to have those features at all. If I had to travel travel I would just leave the extras home!
