When to evict the glider?

Hi ladies - when or have you already removed the glider from your LO's room?  DD's room isn't large and I'm thinking of creating a more reading/relaxing/play corner but DH is thinking we should leave the glider for a bit longer.  I don't use it that much.  If I'm putting DD to bed I will usually just hold her as getting up and down wakes her up ya know?  I usually sit on the floor when I read or play with her so I'm thinking we could use the play space more than the glider/foot rest space.  Thoughts???  Any 2nd or 3rd timers have any input?
TIA LADIES!

  • If I had any where else for the rocking chair it would be gone already but we don't so it stays

  • I was pondering the same thing a few days ago. I still use it to read stories before bed and nap time as well as once in a while to get him to sleep when he won't nap. I decided it wasn't time to evict it quite yet.

If you aren't really using it any more I would move it out and use that corner for something else.
  • We still have one in my almost 3yo's room that we use for story time every night. We'll probably get rid of it when we switch him from his toddler bed to a twin/full bed. Because then we can just sit on the bed with him.

  • We very rarely use it, but are keeping it there. His room isn't big by any means, but there's not much you can do in that corner of the room anyways. He doesn't usually play in his room much, all he really does in there is get changed an sleep. So ours will most likely be in there for years to come b

  • Our bedtime routine involves reading a book or 2 before bed, so I don't see us ditching it any time soon.

This is us.  Right now he only sleeps in his room so it works for us to have ours in there.  I like to cuddle with him before bed in it.  When he's older and his room becomes more of a play area too we will probably move it out.

  • We use ours all the time so we wont be getting rid of it for a while.

  • We moved ours into our room so it's still handy when I want to use it.
  • We put ours in the living room, its comfy to watch TV and recline, I just locked it so it doesn't glide and pinch lo's little fingers
