Mini Crib vs Regular?

Hi Ladies,

I'm a FTM and I've just entered the second trimester (YAY!).  Starting to think about our nursery...  We have a smaller size room that will be for baby.  What are your thoughts on mini cribs? Do any of you moms out there have one? I've seen a few online that can be adjusted into a twin size bed when needed.  Pro or Cons? Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

I still undecided on the matter. We got a full size crib & barely use it, however as LO is getting bigger, am glad for the size of it. You could always do a movable bassinet for the beginning and make the crib decisiom once you know if your LO is bigger vs. smaller.

My only firm advice is to avoid a crib that has the changing table attached. My Dad tried to convince me to get one (he was thinking would be a space saver) & am so glad we did not. My LO would have out grown that set up within 1 month (and she is a small child).

We have a full sized crib, but my parents have a mini at their house.  We were there last week and our 1 year old still fits fine in it.  She is tall (75th %) and still has plenty of room, I am guessing she would fit in it for another year.  I personally like having a full sized, but the mini is perfectly fine if you do not have space for a full sized.

We started with a mini and changed our mind to a full size. They wouldn't let us return the mini, so we took it to MIL's. Glad that wasn't our primary as our son is really tall and would've grown out of it quickly. If you are worried about space tho it is a good option to have, but it'll be a temporary solution. We weren't happy with the lack of selection and linens so that's why we went the full size route in spite of our cramped quarters.

We have an Ikea crib, which while technically is full sized, its smaller and less bulky than most standard cribs. And they're really cheap and awesome. Id totally buy one again!
