Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Solids

Is anyone's baby not taking well to solids?

My DD will be 6 months on the 15th of October. I have tried various veggies.. and she still has the extrusion reflux where she pushes the food back out with her tongue. I did try to give her applesauce once and she seemed to actually like that.. but she still had the problem of pushing it out with her tongue.

I don't know, do you think it's possible she just isn't ready for solids yet? She's a tiny thing! She weighs 12 2 right now.

Any suggestions on how to encourage her to like solids? What do you momma's do with your babies?

Re: Solids

  • Good for fun until 1. If she isn't interested, wait a few weeks and try again.

You really don't need to encourage her at this point.  Right now the introduction of solids is about exposure to tastes and textures.  Solids aren't devoid of nutrition (like many people erroneously tout) but they aren't NECESSARY nutrition until closer to the time they wean from BM or formula.  Wait a few weeks like a PP said and try again but don't worry that she's not loving it yet.
