I usually go home and freeze the milk that I've pumped at work that has only been kept cold by an ice pack. Is this wrong? Are you supposed to keep it in the fridge instead? Also can you mix milk from different days? TIA!
I don't see why you couldn't. I think you can always go colder (meaning go from ice pack, to fridge, to freezer) but not always the other direction (meaning i wouldn't go from freezer to fridge to ice pack for very long.) You can mix milk from different days if it is the same temperature. What I always did was send frozen milk on Monday. Tuesday, I send what I pumped Monday and keep leftovers in the fridge. Same for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. When I get home on Friday, I take whatever is left from the week plus what I pumped on Friday, and divvy it into 4 oz. bags and freeze. Does that make sense? Just make sure you rotate through what you are sending so you don't have a leftover ounce from Monday hanging out in the fridge till Friday.

That is what I did with mine when I was pumping at work. The common fridge was gross and I did not want to leave my BM in there. I never had any issues. I think the ice packs keep it at roughly the same temp a fridge would.
Re: Can BM that has only been kept cold by an ice pack be frozen?
