I'm 33 and this is my first child. Maybe the only who knows. I put off kids so we could be financially sound and not have to worry too much about supporting a child. I want to give my baby everything my mom gave me.
I'm 31 and had my son at 30. I'll be having this baby at 32. This pregnancy wasn't planned but I'm happy it happened....I'm ready to get the baby stage into gear so I can chase them around still. Not because of my age so much as because of my health.
I'm 33. Had my first at 32. They are close primarily due to my diminishing egg reserve. (And I'm actually not being sarcastic in that.) My DH is 38.
My brother just had his first at 44 so I feel young comparatively.
IF DX: DOR & Fragile X pre-mutation carrier
2011: FSH 13.3 & E 99; AMH 0.54
2nd FSH 6.2 E 40's AFC: 8
BFP from Clomid/IUI ~ Pre-e and IUGR during pregnancy ~ DS born 9/4/12
Feb./March 2013: AMH less than 0.16 (undectable) and AFC = 4; BFP from supps ~ DS#2 due May 2014
I'm 34 and will be 35 at the end of October, so technically AMA when this baby is born. I have three step kids and my 3 year old DS, so this will be our last. My DH is 49.
I am 35 and this is baby #2 for us. Where I live, this is the norm. None of my friends had babies in their 20's in fact most of us were in our late 20's when we got married. I think the old mom/young mom debate varies greatly on where you live.
I'm 30 and DH is 33. We've been married for 3 years, together for 5, and are pregnant with our first! We met in grad school and wanted to wait until we were done with school/training and do some traveling. We were fortunate to get pregnant pretty quickly. Our friends are pretty much in the same place, mostly married/engaged and a couple have babies.
We are absolutely ready now and I'm thrilled to start our family.
As I mentioned in the other post yesterday, DH and I just both turned 34 and will be 34 when this baby is born. I had just turned 32 when DD was born, and we were one of the first in our group of friends ( to first get married and then) to have a baby.
I'm 32 and DH is 35. We have a 3 year old. I have lots of friends who had kids much younger. I wasn't ready until almost 30. I went to college and worked for a few years before having ds because I knew I wanted to be a sahm.
Ha! I got the same speech from my mom @Miggg! We had several
discussions about freezing my eggs although she knew my hubby and I have been
trying for a long time.
I’m 35 and due May
17. I’m so excited to turn 7 weeks on Saturday and even more excited about
getting my 2nd ultrasound on Oct. 7 (8W).I have to admit that I have waves of paranoia
that something will go wrong.Last year
I miscarried at 6Wks and at my 1st ultrasound they had a very hard
time finding baby. But I feel great and
have little to no symptoms.
----------------------------------------------------------- My furbabies
I am 36 and DH is 39. I will be 37 when I deliver. We had our first almost 5 years ago. We always said they should have been closer together but just never had the right time. We talked alot about #2 and then it just happened.
Hella old 31 year old here Will be 32 when I birth this kid. No regrets, I was dead set on waiting until I had a great husband to parent with, and the stability that comes along with that. I suppose if I had found all that sooner, I would be a younger mom, but I didn't so whatevs. I was just a party animal in my 20s. I didn't "grow up" until I was about 28!
I'm 30 and this is baby #2. I don't feel old but that's mainly because we're the first in our circle who got married/started having kids. The marriages are catching up, the babies aren't there yet!
I'm 31 and we're definitely not old! I have a similar story to these ladies, college, traveling, got my career going, then marriage and now a baby. Nothin' wrong with that!
Although I got the "your eggs are getting old" speech too. I mentally flipped the bird to those people and went on my merry way.
My husband and I are both 31 and will still be 31 in May. I ovulated on my birthday! We've been trying since we were both 27, so while we would have liked this stage to happen sooner, we are excited that its finally happening! My closest friends that I had before we got married all had kids very young. Out of the rest of our friends none are married or have children, so it will be interesting to see how the group dynamic shifts.
We met in middle school. We got married 15 years later in a February blizzard of 2010.

I'm 31 and will be 32 when baby comes. We've been TTC for 2 years so obviously wanted to start a little sooner but it wasn't meant to be.
Ecinereb - I'm pretty much the same. I'm 31 and will be 32 by EDD. TCC for 2 and a half years and was getting really fed up with people assuming I was putting my career first, not there's anything wrong with that, just it wasn't me and the assumption that it was annoyed me, especially when combined with lectures on the risks of putting it off! It hadn't occurred to me that I'd be an 'old' mum until I saw this!

Totally agree. Where I am from, that is the norm, too. But I moved south 8 years ago and now I am not the norm here.
I'm 37, after TTC for 13 years we were blessed with our first child when I was 35. Now we are expecting our 2nd in May. I have to admit I feel tired, but not old... I don't think we would have done as well at managing the challenged of being new parents as well in our 20s as we did in our 30s.

I did the same. No regrets at all. I'm glad I got it out of my system so no mid life crisis later on lol
I just turned 30. I don't "feel" 30. I always still think of myself as like 26 for some reason lol. This is my 2nd. I had my first at 25. I'm also IF and started TTC at 22.
I'm 31 but I keep forgetting and thinking I'm still 30, and my husband is 28 and loves teasing me about how incredibly ancient I am. This will be my second kid. I feel kind of old, and kind of like I started late, but I think that's just the Midwest, and the gap years before college so all my friends are a couple years younger than I am.
I'll be 31 in a couple weeks, and DH is 30. This is our first baby & we are so excited! We live a little north of NYC & it's pretty much the norm for people to start families in their late 20s/early 30s. I still consider ourselves young!

We're both 32. We didn't meet until our late 20s and were married at 29. I always thought I was on the older side trying to get pregnant over the last few years, but I babysit/nanny a lot and was ALWAYS younger than every mom I sat for. I guess 32 isn't too bad afterall
