Hell for a super-smell-sensitive pregnant lady!

EW ew ew ew ew. I am so grossed out right now I have to vent. I just came back from grocery shopping and I'm starving.  Before I started cooking, I noticed that my trashcan was full and so I took it out - no different than normal.  On my way back to my door, I noticed a really bad smell, like vomit or rotten gross-ness and I figured it must be from one of our neighbors' apartments.  When I came back, it turns out the trash dripped a smelly trail of brown trash liquid from the kitchen to my door, and when I looked in the trashcan there was mold & grossness at the bottom.  I have not been nauseaus to date but it is all I can do not to throw up right now.  Then I had to clean it all up with Lysol disinfectant and wash out the trashcan.  It's a good thing I don't have bleach b/c I'd be bleaching everything and I don't think we're supposed to inhale bleach fumes, right?  Talk about nasty.  Now I can't stop smelling the worst smell ever - I feel like it's all over me and needless to say, i can't imagine eating - especially not in that smelly kitchen!  Definitely pregnant lady hell!

  • Omg, I work in a hospital and I can't even walk into the cafeteria anymore without getting hit in the face with the smell of gross food. Ughhhh I dread walking in there just to get a water. The smell of my own lunch is fine, but all that mass production processed fried food makes me want to vomit. I didn't feel like this 2 weeks ago, but it's bad now!

  • Last time the smell of leftovers heated in the microwave did me in.  I think it's starting again this time.
  • Wow, I can't even take out the trash! You're doing way better than me. And it takes me about two hours for me to decide what to eat. Nothing smells or sounds good. :|
  • I keep smelling BBQ/grilling every time I walk around my work. I don't understand it. It's like I can smell the cooking meat inside each restaurant's kitchen.

  • I work with college students and they often smell bad! They don't always shower and their breath stinks. It's sending me reeling.

  • These are all so funny!  And I agree - even when I'm really hungry sometimes nothing sounds good.  I have quarantined myself to my bedroom and I just ate an entire bag of whole wheat goldfish.  Smart choice.  Real healthy diet here.
  • Eww, I think I would have lost it if I were you. We passed by a little cafe today and the people I walked with commented on how good it smelled. I had to breathe through my mouth to avoid the smell.

  • When I picked DD up from daycare today, they were emptying all the trashcans right when I got there. I could smell every dirty diaper, I swear! I held my breath as much as I could.

  • At my previous job I sat next to the bathroom and the microwave. I had to smell poop and broccoli everyday. I can't even be near broccoli anymore, not even when I'm not pregnant.

  • I work in a hospital, too, and its rough. Hospitals are a stinky place, and my department can smell nasty at times.

Thank goodness the cafeteria is closed during my shift.

The toddler diarrhea I dealt with last week almost wrecked me for real.  Especially when I didn't realize it was there and grabbed the diaper to check for poop after he farted a death smell and stuck my thumb directly in it.

Sorry but that really made me lol!

I have the prospect of filling the dishwasher when I get home from work. The thought actually makes me gag. It's not the most fragrant job at the best of times.

The worst thing I saw recently was when I took some off milk out of the fridge before I went to work, as a reminder not to use it. I didn't have time to dispose of it then, but I came back to it when I got home and when I went to pour it out it had completely separated and turned to chunks. I'm supressing my gag reflex as I type this. It was the most disgusting thing ever.

Happened to me last night too.  Daughter had her first accident in a couple of months.  "Mama, can you check my underpants?"  Stuck my first two fingers directly into the bright green shitline that had crawled right up the back of her drawers.  I had to sit down for a while after that.

  • Thats no fun! Boo to bad nausea inducing smells! My problem is I keep remembering smells of food like oregano or olives. Gross! Makes me wanna hurl.
  • I hear you all and raise you one! I sit near the microwave and my coworker reheated fish yesterday---i think I turned green-and she could tell----it's a life no-no to reheat fish, but at work when you know your coworker is pregnant? blah!
