Baby #3 is a girl. DH and I settled on names for our first two very quickly but we are really struggling this time. DS is Gavin Bryan (mn is DH's fn). DD is Sophie Kay (mn is in honor of DH's mom who passed away)- and we usually do call her "Sophie Kay". For this one, I like my mom's middle name of Elaine and would LOVE to call her Lanie/Laney but DH vetoed it :-( He just doesn't like Laney. I'm not giving up hope that he will come around... but not holding my breath. So these are our current choices:
Alexis Quinn
Macie Brooke or Macie Quinn
Kinley Reese or Kinley Brooke
Thoughts? Other suggestions that we may have missed? Any creative ways to bribe DH into Laney... jk... but not ;-)
Re: Girl Name Opinions- or other suggestions?
Hmm can't say I like any of the names on your list.
What about Elena Quinn...you can call her Laney if you want as a nn, doesn't mean your DH has to. One of my DD's is named Hayden, I like to call her Haddie...DH doesn't care for it so he doesn't do it, it hasn't been a big deal at all.
When I see Elena, I think "ellen-uh" but I suppose it's really supposed to be "E-lay-nuh?" Maybe he would go for that. I think he may actually go for Elaine, he just doesn't like Laney as a nn. We have an Ellie in the family so that's out as a nn.
I should also mention that we have a very unique (weird) German last name with an L sound that is kind of a mouthful. NOTHING goes with our last name but I don't want to complicate it more by having too many "L"s involved lol.
I know! I feel that way too! This has been soooo much harder than I ever expected.
Macie Brooke or Macie Quinn - I don't like this much, it reminds me of the girl from Teen Mom.
Kinley Reese or Kinley Brooke - dislike. Cutesy, trendy name that will seem very dated in 20 years. I thought it was a made-up name at first, but just discovered it's not when I googled it out of curiosity. It still sounds like one of the trendy build-a-names that are popular right now though.
