I am taking progesterone in ethyl oleate. Since sunday (when I opened up a new vial) I have had huge red splotches around my injection sites that develop hours later and have not gone away. One is as big as my palm. The edges are turning black and blue now. Its been way more painful than when I have done it in the past. I could barely walk on Sunday but I figured I just hit a sensitive spot and injected it a little too low. But it keeps happening. Last night I was really hot and sweaty. I have been really tired the last few days and have had a runny nose and sinus pain off and on. Today I have been feeling very warm but my temp was normal. I am also incredibly moody.
Googling revealed that some people experience flu like symptoms with ethyl oleate. But that info was all on forums. I couldn't find any reliable websites. I have a call in to my doc. Maybe I am just getting the flu? I thought my seasonal allergies were to blame.
The prior week of PIO and last cycle caused me some soreness and deep bruising but nothing like this. No bruises I could see, no redness.
Any ideas? Thanks.!

Re: pio allergy or bad batch?
I started having a red, spotchy, itchy, raised rash about 3 weeks into taking the PIO. My RE said it was a delayed reaction to the sesame oil that it is mixed it. It was miserable for a couple weeks. I tried to find a pharmacy that would provide me the kind mixed with ethyl oleate, but I was told it was on a national backorder. I would contact your RE and see if maybe they think its the same reaction situtation and try the kind mixed with sesame oil instead. I had to power through and take benadryl. I'm several weeks in and still have horrible black and blue spots and pain still. I hope it gets better for you soon (((hugs)))
