I told my boss before my family!

DH and I are planning on telling our families this Saturday. Today at work I found out that I had been nominated for a really great position, but there's a lot of emphasis on some end of the year events. Being due in May, I won't see the end of the school year.

I didn't want to say no to the consideration, in case my principal could be flexible so I came clean today!

and the best part, she's still considering me!!

With my son I told my boss before our family. He needed to know because I had a history of a miscarriage and wanted him to know in case any future issues pooped up. And they did. I was lucky that he was so super understanding.

I did as well. I'm a teacher too, but my schedule is super complicated in order to accommodate a year round schedule on a regular 180-day contract. I needed her permission to redo my calendar and make plans for the summer. She's also been super supportive when we were in limbo last week.

I told HR before I told my dad, as I needed time off for an early scan. We wanted to tell my dad after we'd had a scan (I'm PgAL), so this was the only way to do it.

I haven't told my boss yet, but she'll know before the family. I've told my co-workers, but that was just so they'd be understanding as I run to the bathroom a lot. I'll tell the boss around 12-13 weeks, family around 16 weeks.

I told my supervisor yesterday because there's been a lot of stupid stuff happening in my office (I can't deal with one of my coworkers well), and he needed to know because I will probably be super emotional over the next month before I let the cat out of the bag.  Families won't find out (hopefully) til after our first appointment on Halloween.

I had to tell my boss with DD before I told my family. I was working at the Humane Society at the time, in the cat room, scooping the litter of 70 stray cats every day. So I had to tell her literally the day after I found out so I could be switched to dogs.

I told my boss too! I didn't want her thinking I was scheduling a bunch of doctor's appointments during work on purpose. We haven't told our families yet... I feel guilty

I told my boss before my husband last time! I found out in the morning after DH had left for work. When I was at work I had to tell my boos because I was about to go on a crazy whirlwind trip throughout Europe. I canceled

I told my boss before family too. We both suffer from migraines and talk about how awesome medication is. Well I figured she would get suspicious if I kept having to take off because of migraines with the excuse that my meds weren't working.
