3 week check up and feeding ???

Hey all,
We just got home from our 3 week check up. My girls were both 6#1oz at birth, then dropped to 5#9oz and 5#10oz when we went home. Paisley is now 8#1oz and Addison is 7#10oz! I was worried since tandem feeding has become such a struggle I feed them separately, I just wasn't sure if they were gaining enough. I do have a question though, for those of you that don't tandem BF, any advice on getting them on the same schedule so one eats right after the other? Oh and we have our days and nights mixed up, how do I fix that? This mama needs sleep!

Tandem gets easier as they get bigger and develop stronger latches! My 8 week twins are now both about 10lbs. It was so hard and emotional when they were smaller that I preferred to feed separately until more recent. I only tandem when they are hungry at the same time. My boy is a good sleeper and does a 6 hr stretch most nights. So, I usually only have to feed my girl in the middle of the night. The first feeding of the day is usually tandem. I feed on demand so no advice on a schedule right now. Good luck!

  • Thanks! I have developed mastitis so individual feedings are it for now. :0(
