When did you start introducing solids

Q&S are 6.5 months (3.5 months adjusted) and I'm wondering when I should start solids.  With DD (a full-term baby) I started around 4.5 months or so.  Because Q&S are micro-preemies, I don't want to push them, however I've noticed both of them watching me when I eat which can be a cue that they're ready.  So, when did you start to introduce food?

  • we started at 6 months/4 months adj but he wanted nothing to do with them. We started with sweet potatoes.  Eventually around 8 months actual he started to eat "real food" and skipped purees entirely! now he eats anything he can get including clams and his favorite... black olives!?!?!

  • DS is 4 months actual, 3 adjusted and yesterday at his 4 month check up we got the OK to start solids. He doesn't seem to be showing a lot of signs so I think we'll wait until he's 5 or so.
  • I started when she seemed ready. It was just before 9 months or 6 adjusted. Before that she didn't show the slightest interest in food.
  • We are at 5.5 mo actual and Anna is really interested when we eat, watching everything go from our plates to our mouths. We will probably start soft foods this weekend.
