Walking on outside of foot

Hello,

My 15 month old has been walking fine for a couple of months but just yesterday he started walking on the outside of his left foot. It looks painful since he seems to be putting a lot of pressure on his ankle, but when he move it or squeeze it, he does not seem in pain. Of course it's affecting his walking and he's been falling more often because of it.

I'm really worried. Has anyone experienced something similar? I tried googling but came up with nothing.
