Swings

We had our baby shower and the only big item we didn't get is the swings. I'm ordering them today but I can't decide if I should buy one or two. Or maybe buy one now and buy another one later if they both really like it. Any thoughts?

I would get one for now. Wait to see if they both like it. My first hated his swing but loved his bouncer. You don't want two of something if they both don't like it we have just one of each until we see what the boys will like.

DD1 hated her swing. We kept it and then bought a second one on consignment. Both babies like them for now. All that to say, I'd get only one just in case one doesn't like it. And then if both like it, get an second on consignment. Or get two on consignment now. I wouldn't pay full price on two.

I had swingers. One we got from a garage sale and paid full price for the other (which we got a couple months later). Those things were a lifesaver. If I had to do it again, I would get two swings right from the beginning, and probably buy new. The styles of swings we had were very different, and the girls both tended to favor the one we had bought brand new. Also our garage sale swing was uuuuugly. But like everyone says, different babies like different things. Buying one and waiting is always an option!

This! And, if you can, get ones that are not battery-powered (or, at least, have the outlet plug-in option). That thing was in use, no joke, all day, every day those first few weeks. I shudder to think of how many batteries we would have run through (and if they died mid-nap?!)

We bought one swing and ended up buying a second the next day. So worth the money.

My twins, especially my girl, loves our swing! We only have one though as we rotate from holding them, the rock n play and the swing. I don't think we will get a second. We have the bunny fisher price one that we got at our local twin sale. She loves looking up at the reflective mirror and mobile while she swings! They are still growing into the bouncy seats which we have 2 of and aren't quite fond of them yet. We will see if that changes as they get bigger.

We have one swing, and as soon as we can, we will be getting a second. Both babies seem to like it and it calms them down most of the time. Right now they rotate between a bassinet and swing.
