Ten Things

1. More and more I'm realizing that those who are convinced of their perfection are the most flawed.
2. I want to learn sign language.
3. And how to sew.
4. I really think I'm going to leave my job this year if they screw me out of a raise for the fourth year in a row.
5. Yes I'm tooting my own horn, but they will be totally fucked if I leave.
6. My assistant is the least compassionate person I've ever met.
7. I can't wait to take LO pumpkin picking.
8. I don't think anything I do will increase my milk supply.
9. #8 is depressing me.
10. I need to print more pics of LO.

1. Work is really busy / stressful, and I shouldn't be on The Bump right now.

2. BUT, it helps me feel more connected to LO when I do / read mama stuff at work, so eff it.

3. There was a couple touring our daycare this morning during dropoff, and I remembered what it was like to be in their shoes and it felt like a lifetime ago.  I wanted to give them my phone number and let them know they could call me with any "real" questions, but I thought that might be weird. I also heard them say they were on "the list"... and I realized how fortunate we were to get a spot when we needed it.

4. LO has picture day at daycare on Thursday! I was glad to hear that they do the babies first, and will change him in / out of an outfit, because I figured if I put something cute on him, he'd have a blowout.

5. Speaking of blowouts, I think we're going to swap our giant box of size 3 diapers for size 4.

6. And speaking of diapers, I get really overwhelmed by option overload in general... so the plethora of diaper choices, food choices, etc. causes me unnecessary stress.

7. I'm pretty sure I've adopted a WW strategy for parenting (Whatever works.)

8. I miss my clothes, and wonder if they'll ever fit again. Truth be told, I'm okay with this extra 20 pounds of carrying...but I dont want to buy a whole new wardrobe. That's my single motivation for trying to get the weight off. Even my jackets don't fit (?!)

9. I'm annoyed that most mommy and me classes are on weekday mornings.

10. I'm going to an all day bachelorette party at a bunch of wineries on Saturday. I'm not really looking super forward to it to be honest, but I know it's good for me to go. I just hate being away from LO all day on one of my two days off, y'know? (I also hate the thought of having to figure out what to wear.)

 I'm thinking of making shepherd's pie tonight. The real kind, with lamb not beef, but no peas. I hate peas. 

Peas are gross. They're one of the few vegetables I still don't like as an adult. I always pick them out of things like chicken pot pie.

1. This is my first time participating in TTT.

2. I'm not really sure what to write about.

3. I start work in a week and a half.

4. I remember when I had Em that Oct 7th seemed so far away. I can't believe how quickly it came.

5. I'm sad to be leaving him but excited to get back to work. Teaching is my passion and I have missed it so much!

6. Before I had Em, I thought being a SAHM was an easy job. I side eyed people who complained that they didn't have time to clean or make dinner.

7. I am now eating my words because it is the hardest job I've ever done. Hats off to you ladies who will SAH full time because I couldn't do it.

8. My husband messed up Em's schedule this morning and I'm irrationally angry about it.

9. I'm worried what is going to happen to his schedule once I go back to work.

10. My ten things are quite boring. Thanks for reading if you did!

Damn you, Carter's commercial! You get me every time.

I have an appointment tomorrow morning with a surgeon to see if I need to have my gall bladder removed. I'm really hoping he says I can wait on it a while. I haven't had any attacks, ever. Just some soreness.

I'm afraid to start M on solids because she's already a picky eater. Not only will she refuse a bottle even when she's crying from hunger, but now she will only nurse side-lying on my bed. Ay yi yi.

I ate canned chicken dumpling soup for lunch and it was gross. I don't mind canned soup but I generally avoid the kind with meat in it because the meat is usually dog-food grade and makes me gag. So I ate around the chicken as much as I could. Slim pickins at our house right now.

We've had a large flock of geese (40+, I've counted!) hanging out around our pond and they wake M up with all their honking.

I went to a tacky-ass baby shower on Sunday. They did the "guess what's in the diaper" game, but not with candy bars. 12 diapers with things like tuna, Worcestershire sauce, canned gravy... It was awful.

I tear up every time I think about going back to work. It's not till December. But I am dreading it.

Even before I was pregnant I was contemplating a major career change, but I really don't know what else I could do. All I want to do is be a SAHM.

My pre-pregnancy jeans fit, but my wedding rings still don't.

M fell asleep nursing and then pulled off, turned her head, and is now using my bare boob as a pillow. It's so freaking cute, I'm not moving her. I'll just lie here and bump while she snoozes

1. I went to stroller strides this morning for the 1st time and loved it.

2. I am so eager to RUN with G in the BOB. 4 more months.

3. One of my best friends is flying out to visit in a few weeks and I am excited!

4. I found a dead rat in my yard and I've had the heebie jeebies about it ever since.

5. G still has no interest in rolling back to front, and reading about all the rollers on here makes me antsy about it.

6. He gets his shots tomorrow, but our pedi has to go out of town so we're seeing someone else.

7. I'm getting my hair cut on Saturday for the first time in 1.5 years! It's still falling out like crazy so I'm going short.

8. I realized that EBFing has finally become easy. Hallelujah!

9. G will only nap in my bed ever since we came home from vacation. Now I get nothing done since I have to stay with him. How is my bed so different than his crib? Or is it because I can lay next to him?

10. I am loving this age. I need a pause button.

LO just started doing it consistently - and he'll be 5 months on Thursday. I was worried, too, but then he started doing it ALL.THE.TIME. Appreciate your less-mobile baby. Honestly. It's SO hard to get him to stay still when I need him to now

1.  I haven't "Bumped" in a few days

2.  My DH gets to work from home on Tuesdays (yup you will see this on every Tuesday post lol)

3.  DD got her 4 month shots today - 1st time we've had to give her Tylenol :-(

4.  We plan on starting cereal tonight - no flaming please

5.  DD is in the 5th percentile for weight but the 75% for length.  Looks like she's gonna be thin and tall like her Daddy 

6.  My iPhone 5S is at home and waiting for me...can't wait to get it because my 4S is done

7.  She started really and truly sttn this past week 7:30pm - 6:30am, straight

8.  I probably shouldn't have said the above "out loud" LOL

9.  I decided that DD will be a bunny for Halloween

10. I'm annoyed because I can't find a "baby" size cowgirl hat for DD and I really want one for a themed 1st B-day party we're going to in a couple of weeks <sigh>

1. Today is my 3 year wedding anniversary.

2. It's also the 1 year anniversary of finding out I was pregnant.

3. Usually during this week each year I'm vacationing in Florida.

4. Not this year!

5. I've had some employment scares this week.

6. I think it  may all end up working out alright.

7. I like to watch Dr. Phil.

8. I need to do some cleaning.

9. And some laundry.

10. Why is #10 always so difficult?

1. LO hasn't had a poo diaper since last Monday.

2. I'm thinking LO might be constipated since he was grunting and getting frustrated all day today.

3. I see all these cute baby things and want to buy them all.

4. Finally got a library card for the nearest library.

5. Our library allows movies out for FIVE DAYS! Woot! lol

6. DH got some brand new dress shirts from his mom (his dad wouldn't wear them) and they look SO great on him. I was eyeing him all day Sunday. MEOW!

7. I can't believe it's time to start thinking about Christmas gifts!

8. I think we'll be going to Barnes and Noble for everyone's gift this year, just to make it simple.

9. I've been grabbing up books on raising boys like it's my job.

10. My husband tried to confide in me about his childhood and I sort of shut him down with a disgusted response and I'm feeling super guilty now.

1. My caffeine addiction has gotten so bad since Bram was born. I need like 5 shots of espresso a day to function. 

2. I'm probably going to make DH take me to starbucks for a latte even though we have a perfectly good espresso machine

3. We bought Bram's 1st christmas gift at a local toy store we like, (wooden alphabet blocks in French) and the girl went into the back to get the Christmas paper to wrap it. We'll probably buy all of his gifts there between now and X-mas

4. I'm unreasonably excited for LO's first Christmas.

5. I've been sewing a lot lately. I'm really looking forward to making a new set of stockings for this year for all three of us!

6. I'm still getting over a migraine I had yesterday. 

7. I feel guilty that DH had to come home early because I couldn't take care of LO with a migraine. 

8. The lentil loaf in the oven smells delicious

9. I wish I could host a dinner party, but our friends are so not dinner party types. 

10. I tried to take fall pictures of LO today, but he just would not smile for me. I bet he would have if DH had been there.

1. I miss my LO every morning that I drop her off at the babysitters but I know she is in good hands.

2. LO has diaper rash but its in the crevasses where the diaper sits. The diaper is the right size because the size 2 falls off.

3. LO has like a rash type thing on her face. I don't know what it is from. So it is bothering me.

4. I can't stand to do house work anymore mostly because I feel like all I do is laundry.

5. I dislike my job because they screwed me last year with all the crap they gave me while I was pregnant and I feel like they did it again this year.

6. My students are great! I love them (ages 3 and 4 - special ed) and yes you have the one or two who are overzealous but they are just too cute to get upset with.

7. My permanent aide is out on disability and has been since last October. She is supposed to return tomorrow and today after school a coworker told me that now she changed her date to October 15th. (It changed twice already now)

8. I LOVE fall!!!

9. I got my two free Read with me Scout toys from Shoprite! I love getting things for free just by buying diapers, toilet paper and paper towels. (I just wish one was the Violet one since she is a girl)

10. I feel so disconnected from the bump world because I've been so busy I haven't really been on.

Would you share your lentil loaf recipe? I've yet to find one I really like, even though I love lentils.

It was a first try and didn't turn out as good as I would have liked unfortunately. There's a good one I used a few times that I will try to dig up, although I never actually follow recipes, which is frustrating because then people ask me for recipes and I have nothing to give them. I'll have to actually start that vegetarian/vegan food blog I've been thinking about.
