Anyone have a vbac and short cervix??

My first came out vaginally after a long labor and two hrs of pushing. My second never progressed past 6cm and I ended up with a c-section. This time I have a short cervix and I was wondering if I try a vbac will the baby come out easier?? I am planning on a repeat c-section but if I can avoid surgery and have a quick birth it sounds good to me.
