4w 3d and terrified!

I'm only 4w3d and my hcg is only 99, I have nothing to compare it to but has anyone had such a low hcg and what happened?

Re: 4w 3d and terrified!

  • There's a pretty wide range of "normal" HCG levels for that early.  You can probably find the range if you Google.

From what I understand, the important part is how quickly your HCG rises.  Early on they like to see it double ever 48 hours or so.  Do you have a another blood draw scheduled?

  • Yes I have one scheduled for tomorrow afternoon so it will be 48 hours from the first. Thank you for the info!

  • I just went through something similar.  Last week my level was 45 and 5 days later it was 656.  Try not to focus so much on the number as everyone is so different and from what I've been reading there is such a wide range.  The most important thing is that it's rising appropriately.  Best wishes to you!
  • The Countdown to Pregnancy website has a beta doubling time link where you can input  your first and second betas to see if it falls within the normal doubling time. It helped me a lot with mine. My first beta was 45, but I begged my RE to test me even though I was only 12 dpo/dpiui. That tool on countdown to pregnancy gave me peace of mind. You can just google "beta doubling time." Good luck! I'm sure everything is fine.

  • Agreed. Hcg levels are all over the place person to person. I went in at 6w 4d and my hcg was at 18,700 and 2 days later it was at 21,300. Another 4 days later it measured at 27,000. One thing that I found very interesting is that your hcg level doesn't matter once there is a heartbeat! :)
  • I agree with PP that the hcg levels really vary person to person. It isn't really important what your beginning number is, it is the number 48 hours later that is important.  Before worrying too much wait to see what your levels do in the 48 hours.
