Pick out a hat for DH's grandfather

My MIL and GFIL just moved to Virginia (sarcasm yay). GFIL has not lived in a northern climate in 20 years (AZ and SC). His birthday is next weekend and MIL told DH to buy him hat & gloves. 

What the heck kind of hat do you put on a 95 year old man's head? I am thinking something with ear flaps. Bonus if I can buy it from Amazon (yay - 2 day shipping)
