Just curious how often other WM are able to exercise during the week and the weekend and when do you find the time to do it.
Currently, I am running 2-3 times per week during my lunch hour. It's the only time that I can seem to do it-
Just wondering what other moms do- Oh, and what is your exercise of choice?
Re: How often do you exercise? And when do you fit it in?
I also try to go every Saturday and Sunday, which was part of my routine even before kids. The only difference is now DH and I take turns where we used to go together.

I'm a big runner as well. When I got pregnant we bought a treadmill. Currently, I wake up at 5 to run, work out at the gym in my hospital during lunch, or work out at night after DD goes to bed.
Exercise is non-negotiable for me. I work out 5-6 times a week. On weekends I either go running outside or will get on the treadmill while DD naps.
I lift and do abdominal workouts at home as well. The treadmill has been a lifesaver though. DH is a military pilot, currently deployed, so I do lots of long runs on it while he is away.
I am trying to add a fourth run to the week, but its been hard.
I drink a protein shake for dinner/breakfast. I change into my work out clothes when I get home from work to keep me motivated.
When I stop pumping at work, I will go back to working out on my lunch hour.

Nights after my girls are in bed, and weekends. I am not agreeable to getting up early to work out. I wake up relatively late which is why I can work out at night and still do other stuff around the house. My girls go down around 8:30 or 9:00. I work out 3 times a week from 9:30-10 or 10-10:30. I'm also starting my volleyball league again on Mondays and I'm taking a beginning ballet class (HARDEST CLASS EVER) on Sunday mornings while the toddler take her ballet class!

I really miss working out in the mornings. DD2 is still getting up to eat 1-2X per night, and I just can't make myself get up any earlier after only getting a few hours of interrupted sleep. I work through lunch every day, so that's really not an option for me right now.
At best I work out 4 times week, but if I am able to get in more than 2 workouts during the week I feel like it is a huge win. I do a class on Wednesday mornings when I WFH, and I try and work out 1-2 other days during lunch, plus a long run or bike ride on the weekends. I am going to start doing prenatal yoga classes on Friday mornings which I am quite excited about.
I have never been able to get my butt out of bed early in the mornings to work out before work. Youd think after being a swimmer for 10+ years and having morning practice at 5am 4 days a week it would be cake, but my body is so over that noise!

Impressive work out schedules! I can only fit in exercise 2-3 days a week - I take a kettlebells class at the Y on Tuesday before I pick up LOs and then run on Sat during DD2 gymnastics class and try to fit in another run one other day.
Question for those who work out at lunch ( @LoCarb @jlaOK ) : does your work have a shower facility or do you just do a quick freshen up? Lunch workouts would be better for me
A previous building I worked at had shower facilities but this building has nothing.
Wow other WM's- I am impressed by the workout routines. I was inspired to ask the question after reading the "having it all" chain. Exercise is something that is a neccesity to me and would fall under the doing it all catergory.
I am a lunch worker- outer and someone asked about showering facilities. I work on the main campus twice a week and we do have showers there. When I work from the remote campus, we do not have showers, so I just try to pull it together the best I can. That being said, I have my own office and I only see students if they have an appt.- So no one else has to suffer due to my sweatiness
Now that DS is older I don't feel bad exercising when he's awake. I'll get home, chat with him awhile about his day, and while he is decompressing with his cartoons, I'll take a quick jog and be back in time to start his supper. On weekends DH and I try to get DS involved with exercise- we'll take him to the YMCA and leave him in the Kid's Gym for an hour while we work out, then we'll do something fun with him like swim in the pool.
I used to think I'd never be able to do the 5 am routine like many of the WM have attested to- but I did it for a month this summer, just to prove that I could. I bought a package with a trainer and got my ass kicked for an hour 4 mornings a week. It was great, and I feel good that I was able to complete it. That said, I do try to avoid this as it makes our morning routine quite hectic.
I also used to be a lunch hour runner, but I try to limit it to days that aren't so hot/humid because even with a quick cold shower rinse I can't stop sweating.
