Shopping carts/covers/LO doesn't look comfy

DS will be 9 mos next week. We just moved him out of his infant seat to the convertible one that you leave in the car. He's still on the smaller side (about 20 pounds), so I'm having trouble keeping him situated in shopping carts. What do you ladies recommend? Do those shopping cart covers add any bulk to keep your lo from toppling over? I tried stacking blankets around him at Target yesterday, but he was still hunched over and/or leaning on one hiney cheek. ;-) Thoughts? TIA!

I stick my daughter in my K'Tan and she's happy as a lark as we shop. She's so quiet, I could almost forget she's there... If she wasn't 16 pounds strapped to my chest!

I wear my child wherever we go. He hates strollers anf carts. I just put him in my Kinderpack or other carrier.

I wedge my purse beside him in the cart. Gives him more stability and something to fiddle with.

I got a shopping cart cover, and she's more like 14-15 lbs and loves to sit up in the cart and look around.

I bought one for DS several months ago that has these padded flaps you can fold it for added support -- it has been awesome. He no longer needs that support, but it was great when he was transitioning. Here is the link:
