Boy names- Mitchell v. Jack

We thought we'd decided on Mitchell James, until I thought about if/when he goes by Mitch- our last name starts with Ch and I don't like the back to back Ch sound. WDYT? Issue or non? Alternate options now being discussed w/ DH- Jack Clinton or Jack Kenneth. (siblings are Russell and Hazel) TIA!

Re: Boy names- Mitchell v. Jack

  • I really like Jack Clinton (both of those names have a lot of meaning for me, so I will admit to being pretty biased)! I would have the same hesitation with the 'CH'...

Love Mitchell. I say don't worry about a nn & last name flow. Mitch being a nn will be used in more informal settings not together with ln too often: Like friends or family in discussion or phone call. When you read/hear someone's last name it's more formal so he'd probably be hearing Mitchell with it.

  • Our last name begins with a k so all mashed ending in "k" are out. I like the name Luke, but with our last name it sounds like Lou.

  • Your sons would be Jack and Russell?
