maternity jeans

I never bought maternity pants, let alone jeans while pregnant with DD.  I lived in dresses over the summer as I was off from teaching.  If you had jeans, what brand did you buy, would you recommend them, and did they fit like non-maternity jeans (ie were they tight enough)?  Thanks in advance for any advice!

I really liked Old Navy because the fit was very flattering and seemed close to their regular jeans. I also liked the "Pea in a Pod" brand (not sure what store it's from).

Honestly though, I hated wearing jeans during most of my pregnancy. The maternity ones were okay, but I only wore them occasionally.

Old Navy jegging style.  They were super comfortable and fitted.  I also had a pair of jean maternity jeans from there.  They were nice too.

I loved my gap long and lean maternity jeans. Not sure if they still make them.

I had a pair from Old Navy that were fine. I need an extra tall which I couldn't find in any maternity jean brand, so I just wore dresses or crops the whole time.

Old Navy, I buy my regular jeans there and it was nice that the maternity jeans looked exactly the same just a better stretch and the belly waist band. Plus they were reasonably priced rather than maternity stores in the area and I'm cheap.

I loved my Motherhood brand ones from Kohls. They had the secret fit belly panel that was thinner

I loved mine from Thyme (is that just a Canadian brand?). Apparently I'm the odd one out, but I hated the tummy panel on all Motherhood pants.

I usually don't shop at H&M but they have some pretty cute maternity clothes.  I loved the jeans I bought from there.

I just got Motherhood jeans with the full panel a few weeks ago. I like them, they fit more or less like my regular jeans, they're just thinner/stretchier. I also like the panel, it's soft and stretchy.

I had a pair of Motherhood that didn't have a full panel.  Just a back stretchy piece instead of the normal waist band.  The only down side is that you can't wear a belt at all and my "back side" often falls out of all pants.

I loved the motherhood with the full panel. I had a couple different jeans, capris, and dress pants from there.

Nobody ever had to see my butt crack and they made my early preg and post preg belly look smoother, ie not fat-rollish. They also helped keep my pants up. Anddddd they soaked up sweat. That is disgusting, but it was awesome because I was sweating like I was sucking on a habanero all.the.time.

I might try pea in the pod next time. @stasi mentioned a brand a bit ago and it was super cute.

I got mine here in Canada at Thyme maternity, they were too tight in the calf and i never wore them, and I donated them once B was born.. next time I will be more selective.. I loved the turkey pants aspect though..

I liked my ON pair best - with just the thicker waistband. I usually don't like non-maternity pants there. I didn't like my full-panel ones from motherhood.

I had an Old Navy skinny style pair that I loved. I'd gotten them at a consignment store. They had a stretchy waistband but not a panel. I liked that better than some of the pants I had that did have the panel.

@jenmbott I borrowed a pair of Paige maternity jeans from a friend and I was obessed (still am because I got them back!). They don't have panels, they have elastic bands in the waist (that are hidden) that can be unbuttoned to varying lengths to accommodate your growing and shrinking belly.  They were a little uncomfortable right at the end of my pregnancy with Kate because the fit under your bump and I didn't like that...but at the very end of pregnancy was the only time I found regular maternity jeans to actually work, so I just wore those..

I got mine from Motherhood and LOVED them! I loved them so much I bought 2 pairs, one long and one regular to wear with the appropriate shoes. I got so many compliments on them of people asking if they were actually maternity jeans. They were the full panel which I loved as well in a dark wash!

I didn't buy any maternity jeans because I'm tall AND chubby, which is the kiss of death in maternity clothes.  I did have a pair of jean capris from Motherhood Maternity that were really comfy.  Otherwise I wore my regular jeans up until delivery with a belly band.

Pretty much all my pants and jeans were from Gap Maternity. I did have a pair of ON skinny jeans that I loved and wore them well past being pregnant. I don't like the full panel.

I liked H&M maternity pants.  They fit so good for me.  I felt like despite the belly part they did feel like normal jeans.

The only maternity jeans I really liked were Gap. I would highly recommend them.

Just bought a pair of skinny jeans from Old Navy with the demi panel and am now checking out the maternity sales on zulily.  Thanks for all the suggestions!

Motherhood maternity and gap has the best ones in my opinion.
