Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Baby cold

So DS woke up screaming at 4:30, Saw a huge ball of snot in his nose and concluded that he must have a cold. Gave him Tylenol & that helped with the screaming, but the one nostril is a running tap! Temp is only 36. I've finally been able to nurse him but he was having difficulty. We will get a humidifier once the store opens up.

How long do colds last for in babies? (He's 5 months)

Also... The past 2 weeks I've noticed he's started touching his head & rubbing left ear when tired. Of course reading about colds online mentioned that it could be an ear infection? My instinct tells me it's a self soothing thing - what do you think??

My DS rubs his head and ear when he nurses/is sleepy, and it's definitely a soothing thing. Hope your LO feels better soon! Try elevating the mattress if you find he is too stuffy when waking up... That helped more than anything else when R had a cold.

He's still in a Moses basket at night

    Is a temp of 37 worrisome ??
