What is your favorite thing about being a Mom?

Trying to be positive and thankful today! My favorite thing about being a mom is the feeling I get when I look at my daughter and swell up with pride, thinking, "What an absolutely beautiful child we have created!" We are so blessed. I love kissing her hair and it smells like shampoo. I love that every age seems to get better!! And I love it that she stills goes to bed at 7:30pm every night so mommy & daddy can have some quiet time!

  • I love creating memories for my son. I saved all his 1st birthday cards from friends and family. I PLAN (ie if I can get off my butt) to make a little book of them.

I go ALL out for holidays for him. Any Christmas or Halloween event/pastime we can do I'll do it. Last year I wrapped up a Christmas or winter themed book for the 12 last days before Christmas. I let him "open" one per night and read him the story. I ended with "The Night before Christmas" on Christmas Eve.

I want to create this rosy colored cookie cutter childhood for him. So anything I can do that will give him that sense I try to do.

Anyway, everything. I love everything. I also have a great sleeper! He doesn't get up til 8 am! :)

  • Ditto!! My favorite thing is also looking at my daughter and swelling with pride! I am such a SAP at times, lol. I will tear up over everything she does (as long as she isn't being rotten, lol). I love watching her try and achieve new things and I love seeing her contagious smile that reaches ear to ear!!

I second all of this!! I will also add I love that being a mom has made me a more selfless person. I love/hate that I am so much more emotional now & empathetic of other children.

  • I've also turned into a big sap when it comes to kids.

I love hearing the things that come out of his mouth - he can be so hilarious sometimes!  His sense of humor is always amazing to me because I can see his personality developing and he is becoming such a boy now, not a baby.

And sleeping 12 hours straight with a 2 hour nap is pretty awesome too!

Thanks everyone for sharing!  We are a lucky group of moms.   Hopefully we all get to grow our families and enrich our kids' lives with a little brother or sister soon!  Happy Sunday!

  • This is such a hard question because I really love everything about being a mom.  I think the sense of pride is probably the best part.  I know all parents are biased but I have a darn stinkin cute kid, and he's funny and smart to boot.  When I walk into day care and he runs to me, all excited that I'm there, I scoop him up and think how lucky I am that I get to take him home with  me.

And the hugs are pretty nice too.

  • I love when my daughter hugs me and tells me "I love you so much, you're the best mama in the world".  It doesn't get any better than that.

  • This is a tough question... Besides everything he does and is...  I think when he tells me he loves me out of the blue.  Or when he makes me laugh.
