Talk to me about birth control options

We are done having kids. With my SS, we have 3. I have a Mirena since 2011 and have been happy with it for the most part... But it is starting to bother me. I would like to start thinking about other birth control options. We have talked about DH getting snipped. He is willing, but it am not sure if I am ready for such a big step (we don't plan to have more, but I don't know if I am 100% yet). I was on the pill for so many years prior to having kids, I hate to continue to pump my body with hormones. I am curious as to what birth control options other moms are using. Thanks.

@mbenit4 I actually got the Mirena to treat severe post partum bleeding. I had to take two sets of birth control each month. The Mirena really helped with that. But it sucks in other ways

Believe it or not, I can feel it. It's only at certain times. Before my period, or if I have to poop (sorry TMI) and during sex. But I am feeling it more and more lately. I feel crampy and achy. Sometimes even if the kids jump on my lower abdomen or if I sit down too hard. Crazy

I was on Mirena. It really effed with my body badly. I got it removed a few months ago and went back on the pill. I currently take Microgestin 1/20. It's a super low does birth control and it's similar (the dosing is the same, but the inactive pills are more) to Lo Loestrin 24. So far it's been great. My cycles are regular, my sex drive is coming back, I don't feel weird and crampy like with the IUD, ect. We're not sure if we're done having kids yet. When we finally decide down the road we'll get something permanent done, SO has offered to get snipped when we decide to do it.

I had Essure done. It was simple and effective. DH also had a vasectomy. I really don't like babies.

We plan to have at least one more kid and then we've talked about DH getting a vasectomy when we're done. In the mean time, before we ttc baby #2 I'm back on nuvaring. No major issues at all here. Having a little trouble losing the baby weight, but I definitely can't contribute any of that to the nuvaring.
