Gah! 3 year old attention span

This is mostly a vent. I don't know why I continue to try to plan new activities with DS. He gets really excited, makes a huge mess and moves on in about 2% of the time it took me to gather the materials and set them up. Art projects, games, activity sheets, coloring books, toys...we get it out, he plays for 30 seconds, makes a huge mess, then he either asks for more stuff to do or wanders off. I've tried cutting back on the amount of toys available but then he will just take all the cushions off the couch or all the water bottles out of the pantry. I know it's his age and all kids do this sort of thing but it's so frustrating to entertain and clean up after a tornado!

I know exactly how you feel- times two.  It seems all I do is follow the path of the storm.
