I've had the hardest time a name that bf and I agree on for baby girl. The other night I finally got him to agree on two names, Alexis Maria and Alexa Jade. Neither are my first choice but I'm just happy he finally liked a name I didn't hate. What are your opinions on the names, which do you like better, and also with the name Alexis I dread the nn Lexi so would it be odd to call her Alex? I know Alex is in the name but I've never known any one named Alexis to be called anything other than Lexi. Thanks for your help.

I prefer Alexa to Alexis but not in love with Jade. Jade is ok, just not my style.

I think it would be fine to use Alex as a nn, but FWIW I really like Lexi.

I like Alexis Marie. Would you be open to Lex as an option for a NN? My cousin goes by Lex or Lexi.

I like either. And Alex is a fine nn, I feel like if you start the trend of calling LO that nn family and others will follow and you can avoid Lexi

I like Alexa better than Alexis only because Alexis is so over used.
I like Lexi better as a nn however.

I like both the MNs. I don't think Alexis really needs a NN, but I'd prefer Lexi over Alex. Alex is just so masculine to me, especially since Alexander is so popular now there will be lots of boy Alexes around.

Of the two I prefer the flow/sound of Alexa Jade.

I like Alexis Jade, and think the NN Alex is perfectly acceptable for the name.

I love the name Alexa; it's at the top of my list for girls, but I would go with Alexa Marie. It seems to fit better.

We have friends who call their daughter Alex (I can't even for the life of me remember what her full name is!). I'll blame my pregnancy brain! . I like either of your choices and think Alex or anything you want to call her is just fine! Once she's old enough she'll make that decision for herself anyway.
