Good Evening Ladies,
First off, I have been lurking for the past two weeks and have found many posts tremendously helpful! Today, I went for a 9 week ultrasound at the OB. At my 7 week scan the tech spotted two sacs and we were able to hear both heartbeats. The doctor was unable at that time to tell if the babies were in two amniotic sacs. Today everything looked great. Both babies are measuring within a day of nine weeks and both had a heartbeat right around 165. The scan showed a slight membrane image between the two babies--so we are really hoping that there will be two sacs. The doctor is heavily leaning toward mono-di as the type of twins. We are going for another scan in two weeks and I have to schedule an appointment with MFM for nuchal testing. The EDD is 4/26/14. (I apologize for any non-biologically accurate wording in my description, I feel a little overwhelmed by all of this new information!).
I think that I am still in shock. The last two weeks I have spent praying that both twins would be there today and now that they were I guess I just start worrying about the next appointment. The great beyond is a little too much for me to wrap my head around but I am sure I will become more practical as the weeks progress. We have a crazy 19 month old little boy who keeps us so busy without much time to analyze things. Although I have found myself awake in the wee hours of the night with heartburn and a slight state of panic.
Thank you for listening and I look forward to being a part of your community.
Re: Intro and thank you
I'm slightly bias but this is the best board. I'm part of two others (second trimester and February 2014 moms) and I'm telling you this one is the BEST! Welcome MoM!
This board has been so helpful to me in support and "filling in the gaps" of missing or confusing information about multiples from conception to potty training and beyond.
best wishes to you for a healthy pregnancy!
My mo-di twins were a complication-free pregnancy, born term, and are now two healthy, wild, two-year-old boys!
