I am ambidextrous. I can also write upside down and backwards, just as well as I can write normally. It used to make my teachers mad in school, cause I would turn around and write on a friends book or something. My DD1 is right handed. DD2 is left handed. DS is right handed. My mom is right handed. My dad is left handed, but for hockey shoots right and for Baseball throws right. My brother is opposite of my dad. He is right handed, but shoots left and throws left.
Both DH and I are right handed. My Mom is left and my Dad is right, as are my brothers. It is still too early to tell with DS but he switches back and forth from left to right.

They did a test on me when I was younger. Not only can I write with both hands, but I can do it at the same time, and write two different things. Leah has always done everything with her left hand from the time she first held a spoon. I wasn't surprised when she started writing that she is left handed. Summer was the same way with her right and so was Logan.
I am very left handed, my brother is right handed. Both of our parents started out as lefties and were forced to switch very young - my mom still does some things left handed, like bowling. My husband is right handed. DS is tending towards using his right hand for most stuff.
I would be happy if none of my kids ended up as lefties. It just creates a whole bunch of life-long annoyances.
I'm ambidextrous...both my parents were left handed. Not sure what DS will be but I'm thinking possibly right handed since H is, but I know he could be left too.
DH and I are right-handed, DS appears to be left-handed. I know sometimes they say you can't tell this early, but I would be completely shocked if he turned out to be right-handed. He has used his left hand for everything since he started picking up things up. He also throws with his left arm and kicks with his left leg, and does neither as well with his right arm and leg.

I'm right handed, and DD's handedness is still a mystery. My mom is right handed and has a hand tremor as do most of her family, and my dad is left handed. My younger brother is left handed and has the hand tremor as well. I'm pretty sure DD has it too, but to what degree will have to wait to be seen. I had it as a kid, but completely grew out of it, whereas it has only seemed to worsen for my brother who has it the worst of anyone in our family.
DH and I are right handed. DD 1 is right handed DD 2 is too little to know, however, she usually picks things up with her left hand, so we shall see My mom is left, but my dad is right.
DH & I are left handed. My mom is a lefty too. My dad and his dad were and also left handed. I'm pretty sure DD is a righty. I can not cut with my left hand though, is just feels strange to me!

Me - right handed but I play softball (batting) left handed, as well as golfing left handed DH & DD - right handed Both DH's parents - right My mom - right My dad - left
I do certain things with a specific hand, not really ambidextrous. I write with my right hand but when I played lacrosse I did that as a lefty. I throw baseball/softball and bat as a lefty. There are some other things. I don't really know why. My uncle was a lefty and I spent a lot of time with him when I was young so maybe I picked it up there.

Writing, using silverware, brushing my teeth, playing pool...all left handed.
Scissors, tennis, throwing a ball, golf...all right handed.
I'd say I'm ambidextrous, but I can't do anything with both hands. It's one or the other, but it totally varies depending on the activity.
ETA - Oh, and both my kids are right handed, as is DH. My mom is a lefty, my dad is right-handed (and so are both my sisters).

My teachers didn't want me to be ambidextrous.
