New here, a little intro and a question (AMA, GD and HBP)

After reading a few of the discussions on this board, I think I finally found the right board.  I'm 42, I've had high blood pressure since about 12 weeks and a couple weeks ago I was diagnosed with GD.  My HBP is in control with Labetalol and Methyldopa.  We're hoping the GD will be controlled with diet and Metformin.  I just started the Metformin this week and will be doubling my dosage next week.  For now, I think my numbers are looking OK.

My question is about the Metformin.  I didn't see anyone else taking that.  My endocrinologist said it was the only tablet for GD that was approved to take during pregnancy, but I've seen a few bumpies on another medication.  Is there anyone else on Metformin?  Any side effects that you've noticed?  I'm really hoping my numbers stay decent so I can avoid BR or inducing too early.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and that I am glad to read that others are having the same hurdles and are dealing with it well.
