When two married adults grow apart and make each other miserable, they get a divorce or they find ways to make it work. Period. If he hasn't filed for divorce at this point, it's not part of his plan. He's making his marriage work by finding a way to meet the needs that are not being fulfilled by his wife, with you. He's using you. And if you are fine with that, it's one thing. But to pretend you have a perfect relationship where the father of your child will not be in the home with the child you are raising "together" because he's at home with wifey, you're living in a fantasy. 

And when you get old and ugly, and he gets tired of spending his money on you, where do you expect him to be? Faithfully staying by your side because of some piece of paper? Oh wait, you don't have that piece of paper. SHE does.
