Those of you with a diagnosed medical condition....

Do you have a case manager who calls from your health insurance company? Someone just called and said our account was flagged as my kid has a dx and uses insurance regularly. She said she'd call regularly to check on her/provide info. Does this happen to others? Is it a helpful resource or calls I should ignore?

  • DS2 does not have a case manager through insurance but he does have a case manager through our physician's office.

  • It's never happened with us.  I know we can request one, but we've never had an issue with our insurance co so I never felt it was necessary.

  • My daughter has/had a case manager through her insurance. It really was a pointless resource for us as it didn't add any new strategies or help, but my daughter isn't a very "cut and dry" case. I think we talked 3 or 4 times until she just stopped calling.
  • We have one. She calls every couple months. But, I find her completely incompetent. It's obvious she doesn't look at Lily's file before she calls. Honestly, I find it annoying. I get more help from the case workers at the hospital than I do with this service.

  • I have never heard of this.
