Bummed. :(

It's probably silly, and not a big issue in the grand scheme of things, but still is really bumming me out.

We have a group of 5 couples that all get together for dinner club, and we've all had babies over the past year. We were going to have everyone over to our house tomorrow -- for one last get-together before we go back on lock-down (meh.) We've never all been able to coordinate schedules to all get together since the babies have been born, and in the past we just went on our own and left the girls with my parents for previous get-together. Well, one of the couples just let me know they had a friend stay over last night who was coughing this morning and when asked if she was sick, just apparently had bronchitis. :( They were incredibly considerate about letting us know (and they were rightfully a little frustrated themselves -- since they have a young, young baby!).

I felt awful telling them not to come over tomorrow. I hate the constant reminder, that even at this stage, we still have to do this. I hate it. I know it's the right thing to do, but it just feels like a slap in the face -- the last time we know we could do something like this for the next 6-7 months...and still we have to be obnoxious.

Re: Bummed. :(

  • I'm so sorry, and it doesn't seem silly at all, I know I'd be super bummed too. I'm really not looking forward to our first lockdown coming up.
Hoping this one stays put a little longer
