I posted a few days ago about feeling weak and decreased movement. I had tried to page my doc and she did answer the page. Wasn't sure if i shld wait for my appt the next morning or push the issue over something they would prob think was no big deal.
Well i didnt push the issue. I waited till morning. Of course i ended up in l&d where they determined that the little bit of cramping that i wasn't really even concerned about was contractions at only three minutes apart and that i was nearly 4 cm and 80% effaced. I've been having low blood pressure problems through this preg so the Meds they gave to stop labor had a neg affect on that and they had to stop treatment. They transferred me to an inner city hosp with a higher level nicu. When the meds wore off my conttractions started back up at 2 1/2 min apart. they of course got very nervous about that and decided to try the Meds again on a lower dose. Seems to be working so far. No cervix change so thats good. They want to keep them in for at least another 12 hours to get a second steroid shot for their lungs but the longer they stay put the better.
Moral of the story... If something is off... Trust yourself and don't be afraid to sound crazy! Oh and btw.. My doc didnt answer because the page didnt go through and she ( who is preg herself). Also went into early labor!
Re: In l&d at 33w6d
FX babies stay put. It is amazing how fast multiples develop. Mine were born at 34w4d and were fully developed, just small.
I made it to 34w5d. Girls had very minor challenges. Glad that you are in a hosp with a high level NICU. It made all of the difference for us
