How much sleep?

Hi all, just wondering how much sleep your LO's are getting & schedule. DD doesn't go to bed until 9:30-11pm but she sleeps until 8/9:30am. She also takes a 2+ hr nap mid day, about 3-4hrs after she wakes up. Sometimes I think she's still tired again later in the day but other days I think she's had too much sleep as she'll wake up or stir in bed on occasion for almost two hours starting around 4am. I'd love your comparisons. Thanks!

Re: How much sleep?

  • Our munchkin goes to bed anwhere from 7:30 -10pm depending on what we are doing and when he is ready.

He gets up between 7-7:30 during the work week and sometimes later at weekend.  He naps for 2-3 hours  most days around 11:30 but that varies too.

We're trying to let him find his own pattern since we have pretty funky schedules ourselves ..it's a bit hit and miss right now because of teething.  He rarely takes two naps now, but it does happen occasionally where he will power nap in the car, stroller or when we are cuddling.

  • Bed at 7:30. Usually asleep by 8. Up around 7. 1.5-3 hr nap depending on activity level that morning.

This exactly for us.  Same times and everything!

  • Bed between 8:30 and 9 and up at 6:45 (only because we have to wake him for daycare). On the weekends, he sleeps anywhere to 7:45-9:45. He takes a structured nap at daycare that is from 1.5-2 hours but in the weekends, it's a shocker if we get an hour. I have a feeling he'll be dropping naps altogether at an early age.

not exactly this buuuut i'm also going throught the same regarding naps. My LO takes 2-3 hour naps with grandma during the week and with me sometimes 20 minutes if I'm lucky! wth! lol

    As for sleep times:

Bed time 8pm (falls asleep around 8:30)

    Wakes up at 6:30

Naps around 11am-12ish and goes down for about 2 hours (if i get lucky)

  • Asleep between 7:30 and 8:00pm, up by 6:30am, 2-hr nap around noon.
  • Bedtime around 8:30 and wakes up at 6:45 if I'm working, usually around 7:30 if I'm not.  He takes a nap at about 11:30 that is 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours.  On weekends he's usually up around 7:30.  For a long time, he would sleep until 8-8:30, which was nice, but then he'd take a crappy nap.  Longer naps are nice, but I miss sleeping in!

  • Thanks for your responses everyone! It's so helpful to be able to compare with other LOs the same age. We are trying to allow her to set her own schedule but I do want to give her a little structure if I can.

  • Sleeps from 8pm - 8am almost on the dot. Still takes two naps. One at 11am, for 1 1/2 hour. Second nap at 4pm for about an hour.
