Anyone use a carrier with a toddler?

Anyone use a carrier with a toddler? If so what brand do you like?
I hate lugging the stroller around especially in crowded places (fairs) since my daughter walks and loves walking but I want something that is easy to carrier her if needed. I never used a carrier when she was a baby. she is tall for her age so she maybe to big. She loves piggyback rides so that also was I was thinking on getting a carrier to use.

It depends on her weight. You can use an Ergo comfortably up to 30 lbs., I believe.

Yep - I can still carry my 3yr old (whose ~37lbs). I use a toddler sized pack (larger) from Bamberoo. But there are other manufacturers out there too. Kinderpack and Action Baby Carrier come to mind, but I know there are a few.

I use a back carry with the Ergo with my 30 lb toddler and it's very comfortable.

We have a Manduca which has a weight limit of 45lb and it's still quite comfortable to back carry DS and he's about 38lb. The padding is great, it's easy to use and DH also likes to watch it.

I would recommend just trying some on at a store or local baby wearing group.

Tula Toddler, Kinderpack Toddler, and Bloo Kangaroo Kanga Sport XT all are great carriers. Some people outgrow ergos and bobas around 25 lbs, others can wear them until their kids top 45 lbs. It depends on the build of the individual parent and child.

My favorite is the Tula Toddler.

Google Babywearers International or the name of your closest city and babywearing. Most groups have free lending libraries where you can try on carriers or even borrowfor a few weeks.

If you are buying for a toddler, I would get a toddler sized carrier as you will both be more comfortable. Kinderpack, Tula, and Action Baby Carrier are all brands to check out. ABC is the cheapest. You can of course, use a ring sling, wrap, mei tai still too although most people who haven't been wearing find buckles easiest with a toddler.
