Ear Infection? Updated!

So, Cade is getting increasingly fussy the last few days. Yesterday I noticed lots of gunk coming out of his ears, it was orange and gross. I cleaned his little ears a week ago. He wasn't running a fever and eating OK, so I thought nothing of it. Today he is running a little fever and is super fussy. He's also refusing a bottle. I called the pedi's nurse line, but does this sound like an ear infection? Or am I totally blowing this out of proportion?

Update: Well, apparently it's not an ear infection. It's a viral infection that causes ulcers on the back of his throat. There is nothing other than time and painkillers we can give him. He is now completely given up the bottle and is very clingy/screaming. Ugh. This is going to be a long week end.

Not that I know of. He is teething as well, so I could of missed it.

Drainage + teething.... I'd guess ear infection. For my kids, teething almost always = EI.

Well, we'll see what the doc says in an hour. After much crying and and cuddles we finally got him down for a nap. We gave him some Tylenol as well. I just feel bad for my booger.

No, it's a virus caused by the same herpes virus that causes cold sores.

I have no idea. She just said that it's cause by the same virus that gives one cold sores. Only it's all down his throat in nasty red ulcers.
